Notes[change]

  1. Nussbaum, Louis-Frédéric. (2005)."Kibi" in Japan Encyclopedia, p. 512.
  2. The name of these provinces was created using a kanji character from Kibi. A suffix was added according to the distance from the capital -- Bizen (備+zen = "near"), Bitchū (備+chū = "middle"), and Bingo (備+go = "far").
