Suwa Province

Lua error in Module:Nihongo at line 88: attempt to call field '_transl' (a nil value). is an old province in the area of Nagano Prefecture on the island of Honshū.^[1] The history of the province started in 721 and ended in 731.

History[change]

Suwa Province was created during the reign of Empress Genshō.^[2]

According to Shoku Nihongi, Suwa only lasted for ten years after it was established in 721.
