Zhu De ( (also Chu Teh; 1 December 1886 – 6 July 1976) was a Chinese general, warlord, politician and revolutionary. He was one of of the founders of the Communist Party of China. He was a high-ranking official of the Chinese Red Army.
He was Commander-in-Chief of the Eighth Route Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War.
In 1955 he became one of the Ten Marshals of the People's Liberation Army. He was the chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress from 1975 to 1976. Zhu was the head of state of the People's Republic of China.
Zhu died on 6 July 1976 in Beijing at the age of 89.[1]
