Wolfgang Rihm

Wolfgang Rihm (13 March 1952 – 27 July 2024) was a German composer of contemporary classical music and an academic teacher. He was born in Karlsruhe, West Germany. He was known for his opera compositions such as Jakob Lenz, Die Hamletmaschine and Dionysos. Rihm was honored with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2001.

Rihm died on 27 July 2024 from cancer in Ettlingen, Germany at the age of 72.[1]
