Stefan Bajcetic Maquieira ( born October 22, 2004 in Vigo) is a Spanish-Serbian footballer. The midfielder plays in the Austrian Bundesligafor FC Red Bull Salzburg on loan from Liverpool FC.

Career[change]

Bajcetic started in the youth team of Celta Vigo. Then he moved to Liverpool FC's U16 team in February 2021. [1] In the 2021/22 season the central defender played with the U18s, but was also used with the U19s in the UEFA Youth League . For the U23 he playedin the Premier League 2. The 17-year-old signed his first professional contract in November 2021. [2]

Due to his good performances, he made the preparation for the 2022/23 season with the professional team under Jürgen Klopp. He then become a defensive midfielder. In August 2022 he made his Premier League debut at the age of 17. He came in in a 9-0 win against AFC Bournemouth. His first appearance in the Champions League followed at the end of October 2022. At the end of January 2023, Bajčetić signed a new long-term contract.

After a total of twelve appearances in the Premier League he was loaned to the Austrian Bundesliga club FC Red Bull Salzburg in August 2024. [3]

In September 2018 he played three test matches for the Spanish U18 national team. In November 2022 he played 2 games in the Spanish U20 national team. Since September 2023 he plays in the Spanish U21.
