Shinjuku
Lua error in Module:Nihongo at line 88: attempt to call field '_transl' (a nil value). is one of the 23 special wards of Tokyo, Japan. The administration center of the government of Tokyo Prefecture is in Shinjuku.[1] Also in Shinjuku is the biggest railway station in the world, Shinjuku Station.
History[change]
On 15 March 1947, the ward of Shinjuku was formed by combining the wards of Ushigome, Yodobashi, and Yotsuya.[2]
In 1991, the Tokyo Government moved from the Marunouchi district of Chiyoda to the current building in Shinjuku.
Geography[change]
Surrounding Shinjuku are six other wards: Chiyoda to the east; Bunkyo and Toshima to the north; Nakano to the west, and Shibuya and Minato to the south.
