Quinton Donald Lucas (born August 19, 1984)[1] is an American politician. He is the 55th and current mayor of Kansas City, Missouri since 2019. He is the city's third African-American mayor. He was a law school professor.
Early Life and Education[change]
Born on August 19, 1984, in Kansas City, Missouri, Quinton Lucas was raised by his single mother, Quincy Bennett Johnson, on the low-income East Side of Kansas City. He attended The Barstow Institution on a scholarship and later pursued higher education at the University of Washington, where he earned a degree in political science. Lucas furthered his studies at Cornell Law School, gaining valuable legal experience and a deeper understanding of social justice issues.
