The outcome of this request for deletion was to File:Symbol keep vote.svg Keep. SNOW keep, the nominator and all participating members of the community agreed article was notable and sufficiently cleaned up that it should be kept--Griff (talk) 06:54, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

MrMeAndMrMe has nominated this page for deletion for the reason: Improperly sourced, advertising, needs to be wikified. Could arguably be notable but too much advertising MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 21:10, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
Please discuss this request below, but keep in mind that you shouldn't vote on everything and that there may be options other than "keep" or "delete", such as merging.
Discussion[change]
File:Symbol keep vote.svg Keep The state park is notable and I'll remind the nominator they should WP:BEFORE and Deletion is not cleanup. Operator873 connect 21:36, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- The main thing is that it is promotional. I was also mentioning that it was improperly sourced and should be wikified alongside that mention, apologies for the confusion, though. MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 21:48, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- Deletion is not cleanup. You don't fix an article by deleting it. You fix it by wikifying, adding sources, and correcting promotional tone to encyclopedic tone. If it's promotional then make it not promotional. It doesn't really read as promotional to me, but a new editor trying really hard to write an article. Instead of suggesting their first attempt be trashed, why not help them wikify it, as you suggested it needs. If an article has style, content, and/or procedural problems, deletion is not the answer. I realize it may seem like, at times, we are deleting many articles that are promotional on that basis alone. However, the reason those promotional articles are deleted is typically lack of notability or the article is outright spam that's usually a crosswiki self-promotion. A State Park is very, very likely notable and there's little room for true spam. Operator873 connect 23:43, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- File:Symbol keep vote.svg Keep - Seems like a legitimate park, the article itself could be rewritten. -Deppiyy (talk) 23:48, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- File:Symbol keep vote.svg Keep - Rewrite article to focus on subject "the mountain pass" and not the state park that covers part of the pass. However, it does clearly meet GEOLAND, having several sources that provide information about it. Griff (talk) 09:48, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
- File:Symbol keep vote.svg Keep - The pass and the park have clear regional and national notability (compare to mainline entry of the same place). I have worked a bit to wikify and clean up the broken links to the point where the previous objections have largely been addressed. I do suggest altering the title so that the word "pass" is capitalized. Greg.Hartley (talk) 20:47, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
- This is a legitimate article. Yes, there are issues, but they are about content (as in: just cover the pass, or the whole national park). With the state the article has now, there's no reason to delete it. Remember: Deletion isn't cleanup. So rather than scaring yet another editor away, why not help make this a viable article? - keep --Eptalon (talk) 22:01, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
- File:Symbol keep vote.svg Keep - As of writing this comment, the article has improved a lot, thanks to the editors working on it. --*Fehufangą ♮ ✉ Talk page ♮ 22:25, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
- File:Symbol keep vote.svg Keep, notability has been shown now MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 04:40, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
