• Its the third-biggest city in Russia, and the biggest in Siberia. I'd however guess that people using this Wikipedia will likely use the Latin alphabet. How many people will search القاهرة when they are looking for Cairo, Egypt, use 北京 for Beijing, or 大阪 for Osaka? - So while redirects are cheap, I don't think they will be used much.--Eptalon (talk) 11:08, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
• Keep I don't see any reason to delete, and I wouldn't be against creating redirects such as 北京. It feels like the correct thing to do in the name of completeness, and there isn't any policy that I can see against it. --Gordonrox24 | ^Talk 19:59, 25 September 2021 (UTC)

• Keep per we have lots of non native users coming and this can be useful and per CHEAP, redirects really don't hurt and this discussion in fact take up server space of around 1000 redirects, just as a sidenote. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:22, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

  True, but..., that opens up a door for redirects such as กรุงเทพฯ for Bangkok, አዲስ አበባ for Addis Ababa, or ᐃᖃᓗᐃᑦ for Iqaluit which then we'll get a whole load of non-latin scripts. SHB2000 (talk) 12:47, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

  True. Not desirable but then we don't really have a redirect (non english) policy. Might be good for a policy if needed but then they are really lightweight, so I won't be too worried to have a lot of them. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:50, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

• File:Symbol keep vote.svg Keep for two reasons.
  1. We are a wiki with lots of non-native speakers visiting us. A Russian speaker may not know what Новосибирск is in English, and so it's a reasonable redirect to have here.
  2. The English Wikipedia have redirects like this, see w:Новосибирск. It is a redirect from another language, and on the category, there is no rule that this can only be used for Latin languages. As we don't have any rules on this ourselves, we follow the English Wikipedia.
