Mehdi Hanifa oglu Huseynzade (December 22, 1918, Novxanı, Azerbaijan – November 2, 1944, Vitovlje, Slovenia) was an Azerbaijani guerrilla and scout during World War II. After he died he was given the title of Hero of the Soviet Union on April 11, 1957.
Huseynzade attended the Azerbaijan University of Languages.[1]
His life and heroism during World War II was described in Imran Gasimov's book On Distant Shores.
