Islam in Assam

Islam is the second largest and fastest growing religion in Assam. Assam is also home to a large number of Indian Muslims. According to the 2011 census, 36% of Assam's population is Muslim.[1] According to the more late estimates 2021, 42% of the population could be Muslim now.[2] 12 out of 32 districts of Assam is now Muslim majority and 5 districts have high Muslim population concentration.
