CBeebies is a British free children's television channel aimed at children under six. It was started on 9 September 1985, and is owned by the BBC. The channel broadcast from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. It shares time with BBC One, which is on between 7:00 pm and 4:00 am.[1] The sister channel is BBC One for older children between the ages of six and twelve.

A high definition of the channel was launched on 10 December 1989 alongside the sister channels BBC One.
