The Citizens' Declaration was made by various Malaysian political leaders on 4 March 2016, to ask for Prime Minister Najib Razak to step down. It was announced at a press event led by former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.[1][2]

The declaration came because of the 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal and aimed to protect people's rights.[3]
