The Abell S740 is a cluster of galaxies. It is cataloged in the Abell catalogue of southern rich clusters of galaxies. It is over 450[1] million light years away in the constellation Centaurus. It also contains the giant elliptical galaxy ESO 325-G004, the giant elliptical galaxy is also the brightest galaxy in the cluster. It has a redshift of 10,073 km/s.[2]
