Siphonognathus caninis, the sharpnose weed whiting, is a species of ray-finned fish, a weed whiting endemic to the southern coasts of Australia. It is also known as the clown pipefish because it will often act like a clown to scare off other fish. It is mistakenly called the tubemouth because of its resemblance to Siphonognathus argyrophanes.

Nicknames[change]

It has a lot of nicknames, such as clown weed whiting, false tubemouth, or cowboy fish.
