The Day of the Locust is a 1975 American crime drama movie directed by John Schlesinger and was based on the 1939 novel of the same name by Nathanael West. It stars William Atherton, Karen Black, Donald Sutherland, Burgess Meredith, Geraldine Page, Bo Hopkins, Billy Barty, Jackie Earle Haley, Gloria LeRoy, Norman Leavitt, Madge Kennedy and was distributed by Paramount Pictures. It was nominated for 2 Academy Awards in 1976.
