Kira Yarmysh[change]

Kira Yarmysh (edit · talk · history · links · watch · logs · delete) · close request

Eptalon has nominated this page for deletion for the reason: Pretty journalist, in her early 30s, looks like the spokesperson of Alexei Navalny. The article we have is a CV-type article, and even though Navalny is well-known, this does not mean that she is notable. Thoughts? Eptalon (talk) 17:30, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

Please discuss this request below, but keep in mind that you shouldn't vote on everything and that there may be options other than "keep" or "delete", such as merging.

Discussion[change]

  • File:Symbol keep vote.svg Keep - see version https://simple.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kira_Yarmysh&oldid=8091264. --Why do some writers get notable reviews about their first and only book? I am not sure why that has happened.--If there is anything that should be removed from the article, then remove it or take the problem to the talk page. (The short version of her "non-writer part of her career": She has worked in a museum, and she has worked for an airline, and she has worked with some other sh_t.-- It is often okay to make articles simple.)--En-wiki has had their article since 2020-January, and no notability discussion on that website, in case someone wonders. 89.8.153.251 (talk) 18:48, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
  • Weak keep - Three main claims to notability, 1. As an author. She does not meet AUTHOR and her book had a run of about 10,000 copies, so not really notable, although it received coverage. 2. Being jailed and the public coverage of it. Well, that's BLP1E, a fail on its own but worth something and 3. For being a press secretary of Navalny. However, most of the coverage I can find centers on him, she's just a secondary subject. However, there is some significant coverage of her (as a primary subject) in reliable sources, although not much. I can be swayed either way honestly. Griff (talk) 20:18, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
I can be swayed either way - and if it is deleted then maybe I will try gather sources about the wiki-notability regarding her book and then write a wiki-article about the book, and then one can send that wiki-article to AfD.--If that book-article survives AfD, then we can take things from there. Last I heard about notability about books at En-wiki: 3 notable sources that review the book, is often enough.--The Norwegian source in the article is one (of the allegedly needed three) notable book reviews.--For now I really don't give a rat's as_ about improving articles that are up for Deletion. (However, I might swing by the talk page and add stuff there - and make a copy of the talk page - for the next incarnation of the talk page and wiki-article.) 89.8.116.10 (talk) 20:59, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
  • File:Symbol keep vote.svg Keep Based on her basically being the public face of the Russian opposition leader (ie. press secretary), I can see a lot of eyes on her which leads to people wanting to know more about her (the reasonably attractive part helps with this. There is coverage of her be it limited. Probable public interest and verifiably info to work with.. good enough for me. --Creol(talk) 21:33, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
