The Lua error in Module:Nihongo at line 88: attempt to call field '_transl' (a nil value). or JMA, is the Japanese government's weather service. It has the duty of getting the information on the weather and making the weather forecasts in Japan. It also must observe and warn about earthquakes, typhoons, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.

The central office of the agency is in Tokyo, and it has six smaller offices at other regions of Japan.
