In math, a linear combination is the sum of multiplying each value in a set by a constant.

For a set <math>\{ x, y \}</math>, the linear combination can be anything in the pattern <math>a*x + b*y</math>.
In this example, <math>a</math> and <math>b</math> are the constants.
