Lua error in Module:Nihongo at line 88: attempt to call field '_transl' (a nil value). was a Japanese politician and lawyer. He was a member of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). He served as a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature) from 1972 to 2017. He also served two terms as the Minister of Justice in 2000 and 2008. He was born in Chiyoda, Tokyo and grew up in Kagoshima Prefecture.

Yasuoka died of pancreatic cancer on 19 April 2019 at a hospital in Tokyo. He was 79.[1]
