Trinity County is a county in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of California. As of the 2020 census, the population was 16,112,[1] making it the fifth least-populous county in California. The county seat and largest community is Weaverville.[2] Trinity County was founded in 1850. The county takes its name from the Trinity River.
