Simon Baker (born 30 July 1969) is an Australian actor and director. He is best known for his roles as Nicholas Fallin on The Guardian and Patrick Jane on The Mentalist. Baker was born in Launceston, Tasmania. He was first raised in New Guinea and then Ballina, New South Wales. He began a career in acting in 1988.

Baker married actress Rebecca Rigg in 1998. They live together in Los Angeles, California and have three children.[1]

Baker was nominated for an Emmy Award for The Mentalist in 2009.[2]
