Template:PDB[change]
Gotanda has nominated this page for deletion for the reason: This is complex and copied word-for-word from En without simplification in direct violation of recent editing restrictions. See Simple Talk: Racepacket and Simple English and User_talk:Racepacket. A QD Gotanda (talk) 23:48, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
Please discuss this request below, but keep in mind that you shouldn't vote on everything and that there may be options other than "keep" or "delete", such as merging.
Discussion[change]
- Keep As I explained on my talk page, templates can't be simplified or changed, only documentation. While the documentation may be unsimple, the template is needed here. Templates is one case where copy/pasting is perfectly OK (if not required for it to work properly). Griffinofwales (talk) 00:13, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
- I understand that the template content and code is going to be substantially the same across wikis, but there are two issues: 1) a continuing pattern of copy/pasting complex En content (in this case, the doc) with little or no simplification; 2) an editing restriction. If editors under a restriction can simply break it at any time, restrictions are meaningless. Gotanda (talk) 00:22, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
- Right, but this request would also delete the template, which would then have to be re-created to ensure that things kept working. As such, there is no use for this RFD other than to prove a WP:POINT, which is meaningless as the user is now blocked anyways. Griffinofwales (talk) 00:26, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

- Comment: Just because a user is blocked, banned or violating restrictions doesn't mean that everything he's been working on should be deleted Purplebackpack89≈≈≈≈ 00:15, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
- I agree, not everything. But, in this case, the user directly went against the restriction after it was in place. I did not suggest deleting everything. Another article was created in compliance with the restriction--no problem. This one is a direct violation in the same way that all of the other chem articles were that forced the restriction in the first place. Gotanda (talk) 00:22, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
- From what I can see, the template is not currently transcluded in articlespace. If we need it and will use it, keep. Restrictions are in place to prevent drama, not to cause more. sonia♫ 00:52, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
